Balkan Afternoon Linocut Print
A linocut print inspired by the local Bulgarian urban tradition of the Klek shop - a tiny kneeling convenience store, located on street level, where you can get yourself the essentials - snacks, a cold one, cigs, etc.
I added some legendary local snacks and beverages.
The owner is a kuker, as well as the two visitors, chilling after a long day of scaring evil spirits. They are having a beer, a smoke, reading the local sports newspaper, playing cards.
Right beside them is Balkan, their stray friend, a pigeon, enjoying sunflower seeds and a couple of rats, interested in the content of one of the guys net tote - the ingredients for Lyutenitsa.
The costumes are inspired from actual costumes from different regions in Bulgaria.
Printed with black ink with added watercolour details.
Paper: Fabriano Unica 250 gsm Crema
Size: 35x50 cm
Shipped in a paper envelope, secured with a cardboard back.
